Microschool
What? A micro-school is an alternative education to the typical public schools. A small pod of students will learn from a Master teacher with 20 plus years of experience.
Who? The pod will be a mix of age groups all within a few years of one another starting at 4 years old and going up to 8 year olds.
When? Starting mid October. M-F 9:30-2:30. Before and after care available for an additional fee.
Where? In process of being finalized.
Why?
- The small group, allows the teacher to successfully meet every child where they are at and differentiate an individualized curriculum for each child.
- With such a small group of students, a true sense of community will be built, making school a place where your child is excited to come to each day.
- With mixed group of ages, students will be able to be Teachers themselves, as well as learn from one another. This provides for a ton of time to be devoted to collaboration activities, and teaching the students important social skills as well.
- Micro-schools do not have to stick to any single curriculum or way of teaching, allowing them to choose from a variety of activities/lessons that are hands on and fun, and allowing the students to learn about their interests. We will be using Prenda as one of our sources of curriculum.
